NEET for Post Graduate Dental Programs from November 30
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG 2016) will be conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE) for taking admissions to post graduate medical, dental and diploma programs for the academic session 2017. The NEET-MDS will be conducted from Wednesday, November 30, 2016 to Saturday, December 03, 2016 and NEET-PG for post graduate diploma programs is scheduled to be held from Monday, December 05, 2016 to Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in 86 centres across 41 cities.
The official website for NEET PG shall be made available from Saturday, September 24, 2016. Candidates can apply online from Monday, September 26 to Monday, October 31, 2016.
The NEET-PG score is applicable for admissions to all India 50 per cent quota seats for MD/ MS/ PG diploma programs (all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana) and state quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses for all States/Union territories of India including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana.
NEET-PG, a computer-based test comprises of 300 multiple choice questions following the syllabus of MBBS curriculum taken at medical colleges in India. Whereas, NEET-MDS is also a computer-based test which comprises of 240 multiple choice questions. NEET MDS will serve as a single window entrance examination for taking admission to post graduate dental programs across the dental institutions in India. According to the Dental Act, 1948, no other entrance examination conducted by the dental colleges or institutions shall stand valid from the academic year 2017.
Post graduate medical admissions to AIIMS, PGIMER Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) and SRICHITRA Institute are not covered under NEET PG.
