Anesthesiology is a section within medicine which fundamentally studied usage of anesthesia. Anesthesiologist is a medical physician who is skilled in anesthesia. Specialists in the field of anesthesia observe the effects of general or local anesthesia on the patient. The role of an anesthesiologist is very vital during operations since any allergic reactions may arise in the patient's body due to effect of anethesia.
Physicians who manage the doses for anesthesia in a patient before a surgery are known as anesthesiologist or anesthetist. His/her duty is to keep an eye on the blood pressure, respiration and heart rate of the patient so that the doctor can focus on operation. For admission into master’s degree one must have completed MD (Anesthesia) from a MCI recognized university or equivalent. Usually the duration of the course is 2 years.
For admission into a bachelor's degree, the candidate should have M.B.B.S degree. Some institutes might also need the rank obtained in entrance examination. The duration of the course is usually three years.
